Not too long ago, I wrote and posted something about my writing and about my WordPress blog: why I have chosen to write it and why I feel compelled to write. Since that time, I’ve been writing something which is so much more than my blog entries. I’ve started to write the book which has been with me, either in the back or forefront of my mind, for over ten years and which, thanks to all that I have chosen for mySelf in the last two years, I now feel the need to write. All the writing I’ve done in the last year has been leading me to writing this book. I know that it was no longer possible for me to ignore the pull to write it as my expression of Self.
I know that I started writing my blog for myself. It has been the place where I’ve given my thoughts, ideas, beliefs, and responses about the events in my world and my own journey concrete form. It’s been my hope that others would read my posts and that my words might have the potential to provoke them to consider themselves and the events in their world differently. I have hoped and still hope that my words will be the invitation to others into their own depths of understanding of themselves with a sense of assurance that I’ve been there and moved through and am continuing to evolve. We are all continuing to evolve.
I believe so strongly in the will of each of us to understand ourselves, seek out our own answers, and create worlds which are meaningful to us. I believe in the power and possibility of choice and of change.
I have shared my writing with a public I do not know and without knowing if my words were having any impact. I know that there might be some who get a notification that I’ve posted something new and think, “Oh no. Not again!” And there are those who will read what I’ve written and feel no charge about what I’ve presented. And there will be some who will see themselves and their world differently through reading my posts.
Yet even as I’ve known all that ‘in my head’ so to speak, I still would like some evidence that what I’ve posted is being read. So, each day I go to the Dashboard of my blog and check the site stats. And that is where I have proof that my words have impact. I know that because it’s not just my newest posts which are read. Many of my posts which are months old are accessed and read. That is how I know that, through my writing, the web of connection and creation which I have seen in my mind’s eye – the web of interconnecting energy and impetus for change is real and growing.
I believe that we are all creators of our world. I know that I create my world through my words.
